Customer.io

Configuration details for the Customer.io integration

Via the Customer.io destination, Hightouch can either (1) create and sync segments or (2) create and sync custom user attributes.

The Customer.io destination has two different possible modes, one for each of these respective use cases.

Modes

Segment

Segment mode syncs a query to a Customer.io segment. Segments are automatically created in Customer.io based on the name of the query, and each query can sync to only one segment.

Hightouch adds and removes users to a segment by a customer ID. These IDs are user-defined (you choose them) rather than being set by Customer.io. This ID must be returned as part of your query. Additionally, this ID must be unique (per row) and not null. The name of the column representing the customer ID is set by the customer ID column parameter.

Attribute

Attribute mode creates and syncs Customer.io customer attributes. A single query in Hightouch can create and sync multiple attributes.
